Madurai madras High Court Lifted the ban on mobile application TikTok, owned by Chinese Company ByteDance, subject to some conditions.

Deciding the  case filed by advocate Muthukumar, the bench vacated its interim order of banning the app, due to the condition that pornographic videos will not be uploaded on it, failing which contempt of court proceedings would begins.

TikTok said "we are glad about this decision and we believe it is also grearly welcomed by our thrieving community in India, who uses TikTok as a platform to showcase their creativity.

This month The Highcourt on a petition filed by advocate issued an interim order earlier to the central government banning downloading of the app in India & Restricting the media from telecasting videos which was taken using this app.

The High court had passed an interim order banning the app citting inappropriate & Pornographic Content.

Earlier, Tamil Nadu's Information Technology Minister M. Manikanandan said that state would write to the central Government seeking the ban on app in India.

The High Court Had appointed Leading Lawyer Arvind Datar to the court as an independent counsel.

On an appeal filed by the chinese company, on april 22 the supreme court asked the madras high court to decide on TikTok's Plea for the interim relief by April 24, failing which the ban impossed on Mobile App Will stand lifted.

The apex court declined to pass any order in that matter. On Wednesday, TikTok Said that it was "Committed To Continuously Enhancing" its safety features.

"We are gratefull for the opportunity to continue serving Our users Betters. While We Are Pleased that our effort to fight against Misuse of the platform has been recognised, the work is never done from our end, TikTok added.
